Hilfe und Unterstützung für schwerkranke Kinder und Jugendliche

Der Deutsche Kinderhospizverein e.V. begleitet und unterstützt Kinder, Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene mit einer lebensverkürzenden Erkrankung sowie deren Eltern und Geschwister auf ihrem Lebensweg. Die Familien erhalten vorrangig Hilfe zur Bewältigung ihres Alltags – von der Diagnose an bis über den Tod der Kinder hinaus. Mit mehr als 30 Standorten bietet der Deutsche Kinderhospizverein e.V. ein Forum, in dem sich betroffene Familien austauschen und vernetzen können.

Deutscher Kinderverein in Essen speaks up for children's rights since its foundation in 2012. The work is focussed on article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child which militates against violence, abuse and disregard.

Seit 2006 besteht in Hamburg die „Arche-Jenfeld“ und seit 2016 die „Arche-Billstedt“. Im August 2020 hat die dritte Hamburger Arche in Hamburg-Harburg eröffnet. Sie bietet neben einem warmen Mittagessen und/oder Abendessen täglich sinnvolle Freizeitangebote wie Sport, außerschulische Lernförderung, Theater- und Tanzworkshops und Ferienfreizeiten sowie Ausflüge an.

The Suchthilfestiftung (Addiction Aid Foundation) boosts the social rehabilitation i.a. of addicted mothers who live with their children in a rehab institution. For example, the costs for urgently needed children's rooms equipments have been completely funded by the foundation.

Every 15 minutes, someone in Germany gets the shattering diagnosis of blood cancer. Many patients are children and youths, whose only chance to cure is a stem cell donation. The aim of the DKMS is to find a fitting life saver for every patient.

Free make up workshops for girls and woman suffering from cancer

Cancer leaves its marks: hair loss, skin irritations and the loss of eyelashes and eyebrows often are the outside concomitants of a cancer therapy. "look good feel better", the beauty workshop of DKMS LIFE for young cancer patients, helps girls and young women in the age of ten to 21 to see herselves again and not only cancer in the mirror.
