The first Koala Hospital in the world
The Koala Hospital is on the ground of the Roto Rouse in Australia and is the first hospital worldwide dedicated to the care and protection of koalas. The clinic has a doctor's office, eight intensive care units, an operating theatre accessible around-the-clock and several rehab areas.

Hoffnung für krebskranke Kinder und ihre Familien
Der Verein Krebskranke Kinder in Not e.V. will Betroffenen wieder Hoffnung geben und durch finanzielle Mittel eine kleine Unterstützung bei der Heilung der Kinder erreichen. Denn manchmal ist es ja "nur" ein Clown auf einer Kinderkrebsstation, der die Kinder für kurze Zeit von ihrem Schicksal ablenkt und so die Therapie unterstützt.

The tasks of the foundation follow the idea that Nelson Mandela gave to Laureus: social change through sports. This aim is currently played out by social sports projects for children and youths, for example in Berlin, Bremen, Munich, Cologne and Stuttgart.

Every year, around 2,000 children and youths in Germany come down with cancer, around 700 of them with leukaemia. About 80 per cent of these children survive today - also because of the German José Carreras Leukaemia Foundation. José Carreras campaigns for his aim: "Leukaemia must become curable.
