Commitment for the "orphans" of medicine
Rare diseases are often called the orphans of medicine. According to the World Health Organization, disease is rare if less than 5 among 10,000 people are suffering from it. In Germany, there are more than 7,000 known rare diseases.
Help for children and youths
That children come to school without breakfast or cannot afford lunch or that young people are traumatized due to the escape from their home or that they are missing perspectives are only some examples for the urgent need for action the KJA is adopting.

Der Verein Krebskranke Kinder in Not e.V. will Betroffenen wieder Hoffnung geben und durch finanzielle Mittel eine kleine Unterstützung bei der Heilung der Kinder erreichen. Denn manchmal ist es ja "nur" ein Clown auf einer Kinderkrebsstation, der die Kinder für kurze Zeit von ihrem Schicksal ablenkt und so die Therapie unterstützt.

Sport has the power to change the world
The tasks of the foundation follow the idea that Nelson Mandela gave to Laureus: social change through sports. This aim is currently played out by social sports projects for children and youths, for example in Berlin, Bremen, Munich, Cologne and Stuttgart.
