Tabalugahaus Jägersbrunn
Since 2011, Tabalugahaus in Jägersbrunn (near Starnberg) offers a shelter for traumatized children and youths. In therapeutically accompanied active stays, they stock up on new power and self-confidence. The house is in a beautiful, natural environment and the young visitors have the possibility to go mountainbiking, hiking in the forest, watch animals or see the sights of the region. Nature as a therapist plays a big role in those active stays.
The former youth hostel has been renovated by the Peter Maffay Foundation and is now a welcoming place. There are a common room with a chimney, a living room and five bedrooms. A new, handicapped accessible building was funded by the foundation and inaugurated in 2014. There, children can relax, play, play music, do sports and romp around. Tabalugahaus is one of five children's homes of the foundation in Germany, Romania and Majorca. Furthermore, the foundation keeps the Tabaluga sailing ship which is another shelter for traumatized children.
