Die Arche – on the way for German children
Die Arche is on the way to Germany's poor children. In its institutions, Die Arche daily offers a free, warm and full-fledged meal, homework help, leisure activities with sports and music and especially much attention. Children need confirmation for their self-confidence, the feeling of being important and to be loved. Meanwhile, there are 19 bases of Die Arche in Germany - more are about to come. There are two bases in Switzerland and another one in Polonia.
The need is, miserably, enormous. Currently, professional staff cares about 3,500 children and youths in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Cologne, Göttingen, Düsseldorf, Meißen and Potsdam. Other aims of the association are to prevent children from living in the street, to battle against social deficits and to place children in the centre of society. The tasks the children and youths welfare has taken over can only be managed with the support of the society, as the work of Die Arche is funded to almost 100 per cent by donations.
