The 1. FC Köln with its big tradition and fan community is aware of its social responsibility and wants to embrace its social commitment with the help of the 1. FC Köln Foundation. With this background, the foundation was founded on November 21^st in 2009. It focusses the following four main topics: education, violence prevention, health and sports as well as tolerance. The foundation of the Bundesliga club supports children and youths in the Rhineland with projects helping to catch up social disadvantages - from improving the reading competency of boys, open football training with professional attendance in inner cities up to the intermediation of apprenticeship offers. So, the club wants to express its responsibility towards the city and the region.
