Franz Beckenbauer is thankful that fortune brought him to the bright side of life. After saying goodbye to his life as an active athlete, he wanted to give back some of this luck. To people not granted by fate, to people with disabilities and to people who got in trouble without their own fault. For this reason, he founded the Franz Beckenbauer Foundation in 1982 with a capital of one million Deutsche Mark and since then, he could win a lot of personalities from business, sports and the media for the idea. The Franz Beckenbauer Foundation has the aim to support deprived people financially and with advise. The help is unbureaucratical, quick and targeted.
